Samar El Achy is an accomplished nanomedicine researcher and Assistant Professor of Anatomical Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine, as well as the Executive manager of the Nanomedicine laboratory at the Centre of Excellence for Research in Regenerative Medicine & Research Applications (CERRMA) with more than 10 years of experience in the field of nanomedicine.
Dr. El Achy first encountered nanoparticle research during her PhD at CERRMA, in the field of nanomedicine in prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment throughout her doctorate studies. Dr. El Achy played a pivotal role in the establishment of a comprehensive research center for regenerative medicine, cell culture, and nanomedicine. Over the past 10 years, her research has focused on the use of nanotheranostics for cancer detection and treatment, as well as nanotoxicities and gene delivery nanotherapeutics. Her work has been recognized and supported by national and international funding agencies, and she actively promotes “nanotechnology education” through workshops, conferences, and observorships run at CERRMA.
Dr. El Achy is a member of the International Society of Extracellular Vesicles (ISEV), the International Academy of Pathologists, the Genitourinary Society of Pathology (GUPS), Egyptian National Nanotechnology Network (NNN).
Dr. EL Achy is a team member in several running projects funded by The Cardiovascular Research, Education & Prevention Foundation (CVREP) and Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF) in the field of extracellular vesicles.
